What is Bitcoin cloud mining?

Cloud mining means using mining hardware that someone else owns and runs, instead of buying and hosting your own machines. You pay for a share of the computing power and receive the Bitcoin that share produces, if any.

What you actually get

You get access to a quantity of hashrate, measured in TH/s, for a period of time. You do not own the machine, you do not pay its electricity bill directly, and you do not handle noise, heat or repairs.

What you pay for

The price covers hardware, power, cooling and operation. If the Bitcoin produced is worth less than the price, you lose money. This can happen because of a falling Bitcoin price, rising network difficulty or a halving.

Rewards are variable

Output depends on your hashrate divided by the network hashrate, on the block reward, on fees and on pool results. No honest provider can guarantee a fixed return, and any that does should be avoided.

Risks

Counterparty risk: you rely on the provider to run the machines and to pay out. Market risk: Bitcoin is volatile. Cost risk: fees can exceed what is mined. Read the terms, the withdrawal rules and the risk notice before paying.

Frequently asked questions
